Maxi Express train

The Maxi Express is a 3-car configuration, and the standard configuration includes a locomotive and 3 wagons of your choice.  Optional this train can be outfitted with a 4th wagon.

The larger wagons will handle more capacity than the Mini wagons. They are higher, wider, and roomier and offer more comfort and cater to operations that have proportionally more adults.

The Maxi Express can work indoors as well as outdoors. For those wanting a more adapted train for their outdoor operations, we offer weatherproofing options

Entry Edition

Our Entry Edition, Maxi Express train, is perfect for a starting train operator. The train has all that it takes to be successful!

You have a choice of 2 wagon configurations at no extra cost.

As the train moves forward, steam engine sounds are generated and projected from the locomotive.

“Listen Mom, a real train”

The faster the train moves, the faster the rhythm of the sounds. Similarly, as the train slows down, the output flow of the sounds will also decrease. Also provided are bell and whistle sounds that are triggered by their own switch and independent volume controls.

The Sound in Motion system can be enabled or disabled via its on/off switch and it has a knob to control the volume.

When the train is ‘out of sight’ the Sound In Motion can be heard from a distance to attract.

Also, the fact that the train generates these sounds contributes to make it safer.

Our trains no longer have brakes as the motor takes over this function.

Direct drive with no bearing issues and, therefore, low maintenance and optimal performance.

The train’s speed and braking are controlled with only one pedal, similar to electric cars; the train uses regenerative breaking when the pedal is released.

No more keys to replace. The train is powered on a keypad. Each driver can have their own PIN. Supervisors can assign specific codes to their employees.

Business Opportunity

Have you been considering a kiddie train or a mini train as a business opportunity?

Here you can find more information about the four topics that we receive the most questions about.

The purchase of a train is probably not something that you do every day. To help you, we have listed the 7 most frequently asked questions that you absolutely must ask every supplier.

Does the train have the correct certification?

This is perhaps the most crucial question you must ask your supplier!

Certification is often dismissed as “we have CE” or something similar, but is this sufficient to meet the requirements that apply in your country?

Of course, you can buy a train, and we think we can and if there is a problem we will solve it, but also consider your liability and the fact that your insurance does not pay if you do not comply with the regulations.

All Wattman trains have been designed in conformity with the requirements of EN 13814 :2019 – Fairground and Amusement Park Machinery and Structures – Safety.

Based on the EN 13814 approval we are in harmony with the following international standards: International, ISO 17842 – Part 1, 2 & 3 Safety of Amusement Rides and Amusement Devices | USA, ASTM F2291, Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices | ASTM F1193, Standard Practice for Quality, Manufacture, and Construction of Amusement Rides and Devices | Canada, ASTM F2783, Standard Practice for Design, Manufacture, Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Amusement Rides and Devices |Australia and New Zealand, AS 3533 part 1 & 2, Amusement Rides and Devices |Brazil, ABNT NBR 15926, Amusement park equipment | Russia, GOST R 52170, Safety of Mechanized Amusement Rides |GOST R 53130, Safety of Amusement Rides, General Requirements

In the event that you need assistance with certification, our engineers are always there for you.

Is it too good to be true?

During your research for a beautiful and reliable train, you will find a supplier that delivers exactly the same train at a much lower price.

You will receive beautiful photos that look suspiciously like a more expensive product, and the specifications are the same.
Is this really the case?

Always research the supplier, search on social media, ask for references, and contact customers who actually bought and use the product.

We move more than 25 million passengers per year and can be found in over 60 different countries.

What kind of support can you expect from the supplier?

With the substantial investment, the focus is often on the price, which is understandable in itself.

A train is an investment for a more extended period, so the question is whether the purchase price is essential or the support you receive. Without support, a good buy can quickly become a bad investment.

Know that Wattman World will always be here to provide excellent customer service.

Whether you have a new or older train, you can always count on the support from our the company for technical support or parts.

Our company has been around for over 20 years, with more than 800 satisfied customers around the world.

How is the Return on Investment?

When purchasing a train, always look at the period that you want to use the train.

It is tempting to only look at the price when purchasing a new train, but is this wise?

A Wattman train is certainly not cheap, but you will get a reliable train that will last a very long time. The last thing you are waiting for is a train that is regularly out of order. Every disruption is loss of income and annoyance to the customers or the location for where you operate.

We have customers who have been using our trains for more than 15 years and can still get support and parts from us.

Move your clients and boost your business

Is the train environmentally friendly?

With a battery-powered train, you would think it is environmentally friendly, is that true?

It is not only the drive that makes a train environmentally friendly also think of the origin of raw materials with which the train is built and the paint that is used.

Wattman trains are completely manufactured in Canada where we meet stringent regulations concerning the raw materials that we use in our products and the production itself.

Wattman trains are fully recyclable.

What about Delivery?

You buy a train, but how do you get it at your location?

Shipping is often the most challenging part of the purchase since not everyone is aware of how you transport something internationally arrange the import formalities and have the train delivered on location.

At Wattman we take care of this exactly as you wish!

We ship our trains from our warehouse in Granby (QC) Canada and Almere the Netherlands. We deliver Door to Door, CIF or Ex-works. We guide our customers for the entire process.

Is the train suitable for me?

Always remember that a supplier does not like saying no to a customer!

Always investigate whether the train offered is the best choice for you and whether the supplier has already delivered trains at comparable locations.

A Wattman train is suitable for many applications but unfortunately not all. We must occasionally advise our customers to look for a different supplier.

Our trains are used by our customers at shopping centers, zoos, holiday parks, amusement parks, family entertainment centers, city parks, attraction rental companies, museums, event companies and many more.

Have you been considering a kiddie train or a mini train as a business opportunity?

We found an article published by PursuitZone about kiddie trains as a small business opportunity.

What services can the owner of a mini train charge for?

  1. Children can pay for a ride.
  2. The train can be rented on an hourly basis.

How much could be charged per ride?

The owner of the mini train that Pursuit Zone currently has for sell charges $3 per ride.

How much money could I make with a trackless mini-train?

I’m going to use our seller’s business model:  I am also going to be extremely conservative in my estimates.

  • Each ride last about 8 minutes.  16 kids can ride at one time.  (16 x $3= $48 )
  • Lets assume that you ran a full train 3  times per hour – ($48 x 3) = $144 per hour.   (I’m assuming that its takes a bit to get all of the kids loaded and unloaded.)
  • Let’s assume that over the holiday shopping season, you ran the train only 8 hours.  $144 x 8 = $1,152 per day.
  • 7 days per week:     $1,152 x 7 = $8,064 per week.
  • Let’s assume that you are only going to run the train only for the Christmas holiday shopping season  5 weeks total -$8,064 x 5 = $40,320

Aside from a shopping mall, where else could these mini trains or kiddie trains be used?

As with most other businesses in the fun and entertainment industry – uses are limited only by the entrepreneur’s imagination:

zoos, football games, baseball games,  fun and entertainment centers, flea markets, farmers markets, carnivals, parades  and other special events.

We often get the response from customers who see our price list for the first time that the trains are expensive.

But is this really the case?

In our vision, a train must meet the following conditions; Safe for children and bystanders, Reliable, Easy maintenance, Easy to repair, Exellent ROI.

We believe that quality is more important than price!

Of all the parts that Wattman uses in the production of a train, more than 70% comes from renowned American companies.

We do not work with cheap parts from Asia where quality, deliverability and support are often not offered. We also do not use mini tractors, mowers, warehouse vehicles, etc. to manufacture our trains.

Wattman offers:

  • 20+ years of Experience
  • Premium Support
  • Guaranteed Quality

A train operation without the appropriate certification is a vulnerable operation.

Many customers tell us that good certification is not that important, they look more at the price.

Is this really wise?

Of course a cheap train which is often built in China is attractive in price and what can happen, you have never had a problem …

This can go well for years, but if it goes wrong, then the problems start. The insurance company that normally never asked questions will suddenly ask for certification of your train; apparently you have never read the small print in the contract. Health and safety officers start investigating your business. All of a sudden, the future of your company is in danger.

Of course nobody can prevent everything, but being well prepared can save a lot of trouble.

We deliver all our trains standard with EN 13814 :2019 – Fairground and Amusement Park Machinery and Structures – Safety type approval.

With this type approval we meet in North America:

ISO 17842 – Part 1, 2 & 3 Safety of Amusement Rides and Amusement Devices | USA, ASTM F2291, Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices | ASTM F1193, Standard Practice for Quality, Manufacture, and Construction of Amusement Rides and Devices | Canada, ASTM F2783, Standard Practice for Design, Manufacture, Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Amusement Rides and Devices
